Vovy turns on Supabase Auth, wires sign up and log in forms into your app, and tests a real account end to end so you know it works.
Add sign up and log in to my app using Supabase
How it works
- Check the Email provider is on: Vovy opens Authentication, then Sign In / Providers in your Supabase dashboard and confirms Email is enabled, which is the switch that lets people create accounts with a password.
- Copy your project URL and public key: It copies the Project URL and publishable (anon) key into your .env file. These are safe for the browser; the secret key stays out of your frontend.
- Build the sign up and log in forms: In Cursor, Vovy asks the AI to add forms that call signUp and signInWithPassword, plus a log out button, and shows you the diff before accepting.
- Create a test account: Vovy runs your app in Chrome, signs up with a test email, and watches for errors like "Invalid login credentials" or "Email not confirmed".
- Confirm the user appears in Supabase: It opens Authentication, then Users, finds the new account, and shows a card explaining what Supabase stores for each user and what it never stores, like plain passwords.

FAQ
Is Supabase Auth free?
Yes for most early apps. The Free plan includes 50,000 monthly active users, and paid plans raise that limit.
Why can't my test user log in right after signing up?
Supabase requires email confirmation by default, so the account shows "Email not confirmed" until the link in the email is clicked. Vovy points this out during the test.
Will this work with my Lovable or Bolt app?
Yes. Both generate React apps that use the same Supabase client, so the forms and keys work the same way.
