Vovy turns on Firebase Authentication, enables email and Google sign-in, authorizes your domains, and wires the login into your app.
Set up Firebase Auth with email and Google sign-in
How it works
- Turn on Authentication: Vovy opens your project in the Firebase console, goes to Build, Authentication, and clicks Get started.
- Enable sign-in methods: On the Sign-in method tab it turns on Email/Password and Google, and sets your support email for the Google consent screen.
- Authorize your domains: Vovy adds your live domain under Settings, Authorized domains. Missing it causes the "auth/unauthorized-domain" error.
- Wire it into your app: In Cursor it adds your Firebase config, sign in and sign up forms, a Google button using signInWithPopup, and a listener for the logged-in user.
- Test and show users: It signs up with email and Google in Chrome and shows both accounts on the Users tab.

FAQ
Is my Firebase config safe to put in frontend code?
Yes. The apiKey in Firebase config identifies your project and isn't a secret. Security rules protect your data.
What does Firebase Auth cost?
Email and social sign-in are free for most apps, and the upgraded Identity Platform tier includes 50,000 monthly active users free. SMS login is billed per message.
Why does Google login fail on my live site but work locally?
localhost is authorized by default, but your real domain must be added under Authorized domains.
