Vovy installs Cursor, imports your VS Code extensions, themes and keybindings, and adds the cursor command so you can open any folder from Terminal.
Install Cursor and bring over my VS Code extensions and settings
How it works
- Download Cursor: Vovy downloads Cursor from cursor.com, drags it into Applications, and opens it for the first time.
- Import from VS Code: On the welcome screen Vovy picks the one-click import, pulling in your extensions, settings, theme and keyboard shortcuts.
- Sign in to Cursor: Cursor asks you to log in or create an account for its AI features. You sign in yourself in the browser tab it opens.
- Add the cursor command: Vovy runs Shell Command: Install 'cursor' command from the Command Palette, so typing cursor . in Terminal opens the current folder.
- Open your project: Vovy opens your project in Cursor and shows a card comparing what came over from VS Code and where Chat and Agent live.

FAQ
Will this uninstall VS Code?
No. Both apps can live side by side, and your VS Code setup stays exactly as it was.
Is Cursor free?
There is a free tier with limited AI usage. Heavier use needs a paid plan, and pricing is on cursor.com.
Do all VS Code extensions work in Cursor?
Most do, since Cursor is built on VS Code. A few Microsoft-only ones, like some remote and C# tools, may not be available.
