Set up the closed test that new personal Google Play accounts must run, recruit 12 testers, and track the 14-day clock to production access.
Google says I need 12 testers for 14 days. Set up the closed test for me
How it works
- Create a closed testing track: In Play Console, Vovy opens Test and release, then Testing, then Closed testing, and creates a track with an email list of testers.
- Upload your Android build: Vovy runs eas build --platform android and uploads the AAB, the file format Google Play requires. Sending it to testers is publishing, so it asks.
- Build your tester list: Vovy sets up a sheet to collect the Gmail addresses of at least 12 people, with a few extra since anyone who opts out breaks the streak.
- Send the opt-in link: Vovy copies the testers' opt-in URL and drafts a message asking people to join and use the app, since Google looks at real engagement.
- Apply for production after 14 days: Vovy tracks the day count. Once 12 testers have stayed opted in for 14 straight days, it opens Apply for production and helps answer the questions.

FAQ
Does every account have to do this?
No. It applies to personal accounts created after November 13, 2023. Organization accounts are exempt.
What if a tester drops out on day 10?
The count needs 12 people opted in continuously, so recruit a few extra to stay safe.
Can I pay a service for testers?
Services exist, but Google checks that testers genuinely use the app. Real users you know are the safer bet.
