Pick one main address and 301 redirect the other, so visitors and Google always land on the same version of your site.
Make www.mysite.com redirect to mysite.com so there's only one version
How it works
- Test both addresses: Vovy loads www and non-www in the browser and checks what each one returns: a redirect, the site, or an error.
- Pick your main address: A card explains the tradeoff. Vercel recommends www because it works better with CDNs, but either is fine if you're consistent.
- Set the redirect in your host: In Vercel's Domains page, Vovy edits the secondary domain and sets it to redirect to the main one with a 308 or 301 permanent redirect.
- Check paths carry over: Vovy tests a deep link like www.yoursite.com/pricing and confirms it lands on the same page on your main domain, not the homepage.
- Show the result: A card shows both URLs, the redirect code, and why this helps SEO, since Google sees one site instead of two copies.
What you provide
- Your domain on a host
- Which version you prefer, if any
What you get
- One main address

FAQ
Does www vs non-www matter for SEO?
Not which one you pick. What matters is choosing one and redirecting the other so Google doesn't split your ranking.
What's a 301 vs 308 redirect?
Both mean moved permanently. 308 keeps the request method the same, and search engines treat both as permanent.
Do I need a DNS record for www?
Yes. Both names need to point at your host before a redirect can work, and Vovy checks that first.
