Check what backups your Supabase plan includes, download a full dump with the CLI, and store it somewhere safe off Supabase.
Make a full backup of my Supabase database and tell me how to restore it
How it works
- Check your plan's backups: Vovy opens Database, then Backups, and explains your plan. Pro keeps 7 days of daily backups; Free has none you can restore from the dashboard.
- Dump the schema: Vovy runs supabase db dump to save your tables, functions and policies to a SQL file. The CLI uses Docker for this, which Vovy installs if needed.
- Dump the data: Vovy runs supabase db dump with the data-only flag to save every row into a second file.
- Check the files: Vovy confirms the files are complete, lists row counts per table, and shows a card with the file sizes.
- Store them safely: Vovy moves the files to a folder you choose, never a public GitHub repo, and writes a short restore guide next to them.
What you provide

FAQ
Does Supabase back up my data automatically?
On Pro and above, yes, daily. On Free, no dashboard backups are offered, so a manual dump is your only safety net.
Does this back up my uploaded files?
No. Storage files live separately from the database. Vovy can copy a bucket separately if you need that.
What's point-in-time recovery?
It's a paid add-on that restores your database to any second, not just daily snapshots. It starts at about $100 a month.
