Try a new feature on a branch so main stays safe | Vovy
Vovy creates a feature branch, pushes it to GitHub, and shows how to switch back to main anytime, so experiments never touch your live app.
Make a branch for the new pricing page so I don't break the live app
How it works
- Start from a clean main: Vovy checks you have no unsaved changes and pulls the latest main, so your branch starts from the current version.
- Create the branch: Vovy runs git switch -c pricing-page. A branch is a parallel copy of your code where changes cannot affect main.
- Work on it: Vovy opens Cursor on the branch and shows the branch name in the status bar, so you always know where you are.
- Push it to GitHub: Vovy pushes the branch with git push -u origin pricing-page, which backs it up and lets hosts build a preview.
- Show how to switch: A card shows your branches and the one command to hop back to main, plus when to open a pull request.
What you provide

FAQ
What happens to my branch if I switch to main?
It stays exactly as you left it. Commit or stash your changes before switching so nothing carries over.
Does Lovable see my branch?
Lovable syncs one branch at a time. Changes on other branches only appear there if you switch Lovable to that branch.
How many branches can I have?
As many as you want. Delete them after merging to keep things tidy.
