Vovy connects your Lovable project to GitHub, creates the repo, and shows you how two-way sync works so you can also edit in Cursor.
Connect my Lovable project to GitHub so I own the code
How it works
- Open Lovable's Git settings: Vovy opens your project in Lovable and goes to Project settings, Git, GitHub.
- Authorize the GitHub app: GitHub asks you to install Lovable's app on your account or organization. You approve it yourself.
- Connect and create the repo: Vovy clicks Connect. Lovable creates a new private repo and pushes your whole project to its default branch.
- Open the code locally: Vovy clones the repo and opens it in Cursor, so you can edit with AI tools that run on your Mac.
- Show how sync works: A flow card shows the loop: Lovable edits go to GitHub, and pushes to the synced branch flow back into Lovable.
What you provide

- A GitHub account
What you get

FAQ
Can I import an existing GitHub repo into Lovable?
No. Lovable's docs say sync is export only: it creates a new repo from your project, it cannot adopt one you already have.
What happens if I rename the repo?
Lovable detects the rename and keeps syncing. Deleting the repo breaks the connection.
Which branch does Lovable sync?
One branch at a time, normally main. Pushes to other branches do not show up in Lovable until you switch its branch.
