Read the Vercel build log, find the real error behind "Command exited with 1", fix it in your code and redeploy.
My Vercel deploy failed, figure out why and fix it
How it works
- Open the failed deployment: Vovy opens the red deployment in Vercel and expands Build Logs. The last line is usually "Command npm run build exited with 1", which only means something above it broke.
- Find the first real error: Vovy scrolls up to the first error, such as a TypeScript error, a missing env var, or an import like ./Header that's really ./header. Macs ignore capital letters in file names; Vercel's servers don't.
- Reproduce it on your Mac: Vovy runs npm run build in Terminal so the same error shows locally. If it builds fine here, it compares Node versions and env vars between your Mac and Vercel.
- Fix the code: Vovy asks Claude Code or Cursor to make the smallest fix, then shows you the diff in a card so you can see exactly what changed.
- Push and redeploy: With your OK, Vovy commits and pushes. Vercel starts a new build, and Vovy watches it until it goes green, then shows the live link.

FAQ
Why does it build on my Mac but fail on Vercel?
The usual suspects are file name capitalization, a missing environment variable in Vercel, or a different Node version. Vercel builds on Linux from a fresh install, so hidden local state doesn't come along.
Is my live site down while the build is failing?
No. A failed build never replaces production, so visitors keep seeing the last good version.
Can Vovy fix any build error?
Most common ones, yes. Deep framework bugs or broken dependencies sometimes need more back and forth, and Vovy will say when it's unsure.
