Vovy installs Claude Code with Anthropic's native installer, signs you in through the browser, and starts your first session inside your project.
Install Claude Code on my Mac and open it in my project folder
How it works
- Check your plan: Claude Code needs a Claude Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise plan, or an Anthropic Console account. Vovy checks before you install anything.
- Run the native installer: Vovy runs the official curl command from Anthropic's docs. The native install updates itself in the background, so you never manage versions.
- Verify the install: Vovy runs claude --version and claude doctor, and fixes the PATH if Terminal says command not found.
- Sign in through your browser: Vovy opens your project folder and runs claude. A browser tab opens to log in, and you approve it yourself.
- Run a first safe task: Vovy asks Claude Code to explain your project's structure, a read-only request, and shows a card of the key commands like /help and Esc to stop.

FAQ
Does the free Claude plan include Claude Code?
No. Anthropic's docs say Claude Code needs Pro, Max, Team, Enterprise, or a Console (API) account.
Should I install it with npm?
You can, but Anthropic recommends the native installer, which updates automatically. The npm package now needs Node 22 or later.
Can it change my files without asking?
By default it asks before editing files or running commands. You choose what to allow.
