Vovy creates your PayPal app credentials, adds PayPal checkout buttons to your site, and tests a payment with a sandbox buyer account.
Add a PayPal button to my checkout
How it works
- Create a PayPal app: Vovy opens Apps and Credentials in the PayPal Developer Dashboard, creates an app, and copies the sandbox Client ID and secret.
- Add the PayPal buttons: In Cursor it adds PayPal's JavaScript SDK with your Client ID and renders the PayPal button next to your existing checkout.
- Create and capture orders on the server: Vovy writes server functions that create the order and capture the payment with your secret, so the price can't be changed in the browser.
- Pay with a sandbox buyer: It pays using a PayPal sandbox buyer account and shows the completed order in the sandbox dashboard.
- Switch to live credentials: After testing, Vovy swaps in live credentials in production and runs a small real payment.

FAQ
Do I need a Business account?
Yes. Live API credentials require a PayPal Business account, which is free to open.
What does PayPal charge?
PayPal charges a percentage plus a fixed fee per transaction, which varies by country and payment type. Check PayPal's merchant fees page.
Can Stripe handle PayPal for me instead?
In some countries Stripe offers PayPal as a payment method. Vovy checks your Stripe payment methods settings first.
