Enroll in the Apple Developer Program as a person or a company, avoid the D-U-N-S number trap, and know what the $99 a year buys you.
Sign me up for the Apple Developer Program so I can ship to the App Store
How it works
- Choose individual or organization: A card compares the two. Individual is fastest but shows your personal name on the App Store. Organization shows your company name but needs a D-U-N-S number.
- Look up your D-U-N-S number: For a company, Vovy opens Apple's D-U-N-S lookup and checks whether your business already has one. Getting a new one is free but can take days.
- Sign in with your Apple ID: Vovy opens developer.apple.com/programs/enroll. You sign in yourself and approve two-factor authentication, which Apple requires.
- Fill in the enrollment form: Vovy fills in your legal name, address and company details exactly as they appear on your records. Mismatches are the top cause of delays.
- Pay the $99 annual fee: Vovy stops at checkout and shows the charge. You approve and pay, then Apple reviews the account, which can take from hours to a few days.

FAQ
Can I switch from individual to company later?
Yes, Apple support can migrate an individual account to an organization, but it takes paperwork. Choose now if you already have a company.
How long until I am approved?
Individuals are often approved within a day or two. Organizations wait on D-U-N-S verification, which can add a week or more.
What happens if I stop paying?
Your apps are removed from sale when the membership lapses. They come back if you renew.
