Vovy helps you pick the five events that matter, adds Mixpanel with clean snake_case names and user profiles, and checks each event in Live View.
Set up Mixpanel and track the five actions that matter in my app
How it works
- Pick the events that matter: Vovy asks what success looks like and drafts a short tracking plan, like signed_up, created_project, invited_teammate, started_trial and paid.
- Create the Mixpanel project: It opens mixpanel.com, you sign in, and it creates a project and copies the project token from Project Settings.
- Add tracking to your code: Cursor installs mixpanel-browser, initializes it once, and adds a track call for each event with a few useful properties, like plan or source.
- Identify users: It calls identify with your user ID on login and sets profile properties like email and plan, so reports show people, not random IDs.
- Check events in Live View: Vovy runs through your app and watches Mixpanel's Events live view, then shows a card of each event, its properties, and a pass or fail.

FAQ
Is Mixpanel free?
The free plan includes up to 1 million events a month. Beyond that you need the paid Growth plan, which is priced by event volume.
Why only five events?
A few well-named events you trust beat fifty messy ones. You can add more once you know what questions you're asking.
Mixpanel or PostHog?
Both do funnels and retention well. PostHog bundles session replay and feature flags; Mixpanel's reports are often easier for non-technical teams.
