Vovy creates a free GitHub organization for your company, transfers the repo, and reconnects Vercel, Lovable and your local clone so nothing breaks.
Create a GitHub org for my startup and move my repo into it
How it works
- Create the organization: Vovy opens Your organizations, New organization and picks the Free plan. An organization is a shared account for your company's repos.
- List what is connected: Vovy checks which apps are linked to the repo, like Vercel, Lovable and GitHub Actions, so each can be reconnected after the move.
- Transfer the repo: Vovy goes to Settings, Danger Zone, Transfer ownership and moves it into the org. GitHub redirects the old URL.
- Reconnect your apps: Vovy grants the Vercel and Lovable GitHub apps access to the new org and checks a deploy still triggers on push.
- Update your Mac: Vovy updates your local clone's remote URL and shows a card of everything moved, with any follow-ups.
What you provide
- Admin access to the repo
- A name for your organization
What you get
- A free GitHub organization
- The repo owned by your company
- Vercel and Lovable reconnected
- Your local clone updated
FAQ
Will my links and stars break?
No. GitHub redirects the old URL to the new location, and issues, PRs and stars move with the repo.
Does Lovable keep syncing?
Lovable's docs say sync continues if your workspace has a GitHub connection for the new owner, so connect the org in Lovable first.
Why use an org at all?
It keeps code owned by the company, not your personal account, and gives finer roles like read-only for contractors.
