Create a sitemap and submit it to Google | Vovy
Vovy generates a sitemap.xml listing every public page, points robots.txt at it, and submits it in Search Console so Google finds new pages faster.
Make a sitemap for my site and submit it to Google
How it works
- List your public pages: Vovy reads your routes and database-driven pages, like blog posts, and leaves out private ones like /dashboard and /settings.
- Generate sitemap.xml: Cursor adds a sitemap, a file listing your pages for search engines, that rebuilds itself when you add content, like app/sitemap.ts in Next.js.
- Point robots.txt at it: It adds a Sitemap: line to robots.txt and checks nothing important is blocked by a Disallow rule.
- Deploy and check it loads: Vovy deploys and opens yoursite.com/sitemap.xml to confirm it returns real XML, not your app's page.
- Submit in Search Console: It opens Sitemaps in Search Console, submits the URL, and shows you the status and number of discovered pages.
What you provide

FAQ
Does a sitemap make Google rank me?
No. It helps Google find pages faster. Ranking still depends on content and links.
Search Console says "Couldn't fetch". Why?
Often the file returns HTML because a single-page app rewrite catches /sitemap.xml. Vovy checks the rewrite rules first.
Do I resubmit every time I add a page?
No. Google rechecks the sitemap on its own. Resubmit only if you change its address.
