Add your domain to Cloudflare, check every copied DNS record, switch nameservers at your registrar, and keep your site and email running.
Move my domain's DNS over to Cloudflare without breaking my site or email
How it works
- Snapshot your current DNS: Vovy opens your registrar's DNS page and saves every record in a table, including MX records for email and TXT verification records. This is your safety net.
- Add the domain to Cloudflare: Vovy opens Cloudflare, clicks Add a domain, and picks the Free plan. Cloudflare scans and copies your existing records.
- Compare the imported records: The scan sometimes misses records. Vovy compares Cloudflare's list against your snapshot and adds anything missing before you switch.
- Switch nameservers at your registrar: Nameservers decide who answers questions about your domain. Vovy asks, then replaces your registrar's nameservers with the two Cloudflare assigned to you.
- Confirm the domain is Active: Vovy checks Cloudflare until the domain shows Active, then tests your site and sends a test email route check. A card shows the before and after.

FAQ
Will my site go down?
Not if every record is copied first. Both old and new nameservers answer the same way during the switch, which can take up to 24 hours.
Is this the same as transferring my domain?
No. You keep paying your registrar. Only who manages the DNS records changes.
Should the orange cloud be on?
The orange cloud (proxy) adds Cloudflare's caching and protection. Some hosts like Vercel recommend turning it off for their records, and Vovy follows each host's advice.
