Vovy creates a Stripe coupon and customer-facing promo code with limits, and turns on the promo code box in your checkout.
Make a LAUNCH50 code for 50% off the first 3 months
How it works
- Create the coupon: Vovy opens Product catalog, Coupons in Stripe and creates 50% off, repeating for 3 months. The coupon is the rule behind the code.
- Add the promo code: It adds LAUNCH50 as the customer-facing code, with an expiry date and a limit on how many times it can be used.
- Show the promo box at checkout: In Cursor it sets allow_promotion_codes to true on your Checkout Session so customers see an Add promotion code link.
- Test the discount: Vovy applies LAUNCH50 in a sandbox checkout and shows a card with the first invoice and the price after 3 months.

FAQ
What's the difference between a coupon and a promo code?
A coupon is the discount rule. A promo code is the word customers type. One coupon can have many codes, like one per influencer.
Can I limit it to first-time customers?
Yes. Promo codes have an option to apply only to customers with no prior payments.
Can I change the discount after people used it?
No. Coupons can't be edited once created, so make a new one and deactivate the old code.
